The list of the bestselling video game titles for PCs and consoles in Germany in 2025 is headed by the football simulation game ‘EA SPORTS FC 26’ (Electronic Arts), which since its release in September has also regularly ranked at or near the top of the monthly charts. ‘Battlefield 6’ (Electronic Arts), the latest instalment in the well-known first-person shooter series which sold rapidly after its release in October, takes second place. Third place is held by ‘Mario Kart World’ (Nintendo), the racing game for the whole family, which hit the market simultaneously with the Nintendo Switch 2 and was optionally offered bundled with the console. The action adventure ‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ (Ubisoft), taking players on an epic journey to 16th-century Japan, places fourth. The top 5 are rounded off by the cooperative adventure ‘Split Fiction’ (Electronic Arts), which offers thrilling shared challenges in fantasy worlds for two players in co-op mode.

Information on the annual charts

The game annual charts for 2025 list the games released that year for PCs and game consoles that achieved the strongest German sales in 2025, physically and digitally, across platforms. The data is gathered by Games Sales Data (GSD), a platform operated by Video Games Europe (VGE). In Germany, GSD obtains data from publishers on sales through both retailers and digital platforms such as Nintendo eShop, PSN, Xbox Store and Steam. Digital sales of Nintendo titles from the Nintendo eShop are not included. Please note: because games publishers do not submit sales data to GSD on all successful 2025 releases, titles such as ‘ARC Raiders’, ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’ and ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ could not be taken into account in the game annual charts.
