Berlin, 20 June 2016 – The BIU, the German Games Industry Association, welcomes a new member into its ranks: Tencent is joining the German Games Industry Association, as BIU announced today. Among other games, Tencent develops League of Legends in partnership with Riot Games – it is one of the most successful eSports games in the world. Tencent also works with Epic Games – known for its Unreal Engine, among other things – and Paradox Interactive, the Swedish publisher of games like Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis and Cities: Skylines. Additionally, the company is a leading provider of internet services in areas such as games, communication (QQ, Weixin/WeChat), social networks (Qzone) and digital content (Tencent Video). Tencent plans to get more involved in the German and European games industries in future and will participate in the ‘Pitch & Match’ event hosted by BIU.Dev at gamescom.
