Membership in game Our membership categories Membership in the game is possible in the following membership categories: Basic membership Any company based in Germany that is active as a developer and/or provider (publisher) of games can become a basic member, provided that this activity is not only of secondary importance for its business operations. Companies that generate at least 1.5 million euros in sales per year with games in Germany or have at least 50 employees are not eligible for Basic Membership. Basic members pay a fixed annual fee of 250.00 euros per year. Zum Antrag Standard membership Any company based in Germany that is active as a developer and/or provider (publisher) of games can be a full member, provided that this activity is not only of minor importance for its business operations and that the company has existed as such without interruption for 24 months at the time of application. The amount of the contribution is based on the turnover generated by the company in Germany in the previous year with games as well as hardware and accessories for the use of games. Zum Antrag Associate membership Any company based in Germany can become an extraordinary member if and to the extent that a significant proportion of its turnover is generated with goods and/or services in the games sector. Typical examples are graphics, music or animation studios, games platforms, educational institutions, training and research institutions, esports service providers, creators of technical software components and complete solutions that can be used as the basis for computer or video games, such as middleware, server providers, providers of online technologies, consultants such as lawyers or management consultants as well as financiers and investors. The amount of the contribution is based on the global annual turnover achieved in the previous year. Educational institutions are assigned to the lowest contribution level on a flat-rate basis.
