Germany is a business hotspot for foreign investors. Currently, around 80,000 foreign companies are based in Germany, employing approximately 3.5 million people.

Since 2010, foreign direct investment stocks have increased by 45 per cent and reached a value of more than 556 billion euros in 2019. Foreign companies that invest in the German market stem primarily from the software, information and communication technology industries, followed by the business and financial services sector.
