Impressionen – gamescom Eröffnung 2017 Am Dienstag, dem 22. August 2017, sprach Bundeskanzlerin Dr. Angela Merkel zur Eröffnung der gamescom vor rund 350 geladenen Gästen und mehr als 150 Journalisten zum Start des weltgrößten Events für Computer- und Videospiele auf dem Kölner Messegelände (Video | Text). Anschließend brachen die Bundeskanzlerin und der Ministerpräsident des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen Armin Laschet gemeinsam mit Staatssekretär Sean Casey vom gamescom-Partnerland Kanada und der Kölner Oberbürgermeisterin Henriette Reker zu einem Rundgang durch die Messehallen auf. Begleitet wurden sie hierbei von Felix Falk, Geschäftsführer des BIU, sowie Gerald Böse, Vorsitzende der Geschäftsführung der Koelnmesse, dem Veranstalter der gamescom. Die offiziellen Eröffnungsrundgänge der gamescom endeten dieses Jahr im Bereich „Made in Germany“ in der business area. Hier trafen die politischen Gäste beim Business Talk auf Vertreter der deutschen Games-Branche, um die aktuellen Themen und Belange der Branche zu diskutieren.
